SHEFFIELD INTERNATIONAL VENUES AND SHEFFIELD CITY HALL
In December, 2005 Vienna based sound engineer Michele Gaggia came to Sheffield to run acoustic tests in the Sheffield City Hall Ballroom. These tests quickly determined that the space was not only acceptable as a recording venue for classical music, but that it has a beautiful or 'creamy' acoustic perfectly suited for the subtleties of the baroque instruments which would be used in the Brandenburg recording.
Sheffield International Venues then offered the EBE the use of Sheffield City Hall's beautifully refurbished Ballroom for the duration of the recording. This was an enormous gift and enabled us to anchor our project in Sheffield. Our special thanks to SIV and especially, to the indefatigable staff at Sheffield City Hall.
