Sheffield Music Academy' s star cellist, 12 year old Tom Pickles, meets Trevor Pinnock and Jonathan Manson

Despite the pressures of rehearsal, performance and recording, Trevor Pinnock and cellist Jonathan Manson found time to meet with one, very excited 12-year-old, cello student Tom Pickles.  Tom studies cello at the Sheffield Music Academy and was lucky enough to be invited to Sheffield City Hall where he met Trevor and enjoyed some private tuition from Jonathan before a quick tour of the recording setup in the City Hall Ballroom.

Sheffield Music Academy Director John Grundy said: “We were delighted when Trevor and Jonathan invited Tom to join them – it’s not everyday that such world-renowned musicians are available in the city and able to take time out like this. We heard some of the recording and I can’t wait for the actual CD to come out now.”
