Andrew Stepan

Photographer Andrew Stepan approached project manager Mitzi Matlock after seeing an article about the European Brandenburg Ensemble. A keen follower of Trevor Pinnock, Andrew couldn’t resist the opportunity to become directly involved with such a prestigious project and committed his time and services pro bono to document the recording of the Brandenburgs, the birthday celebrations and all the associated activity.

“It has been a humbling experience to observe some of the finest Baroque musicians in the world in the Ensemble’s preparation before a performance," said Andrew, "It has also been an unforgettable privilege to be able to photograph them doing so. I hope that the photography reflects both the intensity of the musicians and their sense of fun.”
